Great Expectations

Third grade is a fun year. I’ve always held high expectations for the students in my class. We work hard and play hard. I have always felt the kids can do great things. The only thing that holds them back is the limitations that we as adults sometimes put on them. Around our classroom door you’ll see the words “Experience the Adventure”. We do big things and have fun doing them. We do get serious, at times I expect near perfection. (wait until they get into cursive writing) I’ve seen some students with horrendous printing write beautifully in cursive. It’s always enjoyable for me to see their eyes as they realize the greatness of their work. So watch us bloom! We’ll raise the bar and watch as the kids surprise themselves . I invite you into our classroom anytime. There’s no need for announcement. Stop in at the office, then come on by. I extend to you parents the same thing I will be challenging your children ….step into room # 11 and “ Experience the Adventure!” I double –dog dare ya!
I’m looking forward to a fantastic year!

~Reminder Homework~Home - Mr. Webb's Third Grade Class

A work assignment that has been corrected and has any type of ink stamp on it has been used for a grade in my grade book. Once I hand the papers back a student may redo the missed problems for a half point each. Assignments that are not turned in at that time they are due receive a zero and CANNOT be redone. Incomplete assignments are given a zero and can’t be made-up. There has been some confusion concerning work that was done at home , but then left home by the student the day it was due. No credit will be given for the work if it doesn’t make it to class the day it is do. Responsibility is actually a state standard that I have been required to teach. Making my students accountable for their work is one way I fill this standard can be met. As you can image having papers from different due dates turned in throughout the week makes management of the assignments difficult and at times confusing.
